Honey Bee Monitoring System

The Honey Bee Monitoring System is a system designed to monitor the overall health of the honey bee colony and the conditions of the hive. Many outside factors can become threats to the honey bee colony, including poor hive conditions, intruding pests, and parasites. Our monitoring system uses a mesh frame attached to the entrance of the hive, as shown in the image above, with a sensor and camera positioned on top to record bee activity and hive conditions. Using a convoluted neural network, we aim to determine the number of bees entering and leaving the hive, detect any intruding pests, and pin point any parasites that have latched on to the honey bees.

The above picture shows the entirety of the monitoring system before it is attached to the hive. All data collected by the monitoring system is sent to our server. By visiting our website, you can create an account with IntelliBeeHive to view all the data recorded and find out more about the Honey Bee Monitoring System.
